1. I recently went with some friends to Puebla, Mexico. We visited the cities of Puebla and Cholula. In this picture is the Great Pyramid of Cholula. The mountain in the picture is actually the pyramid, though it is so old that earth has grown out of it. There are tunnels all through and we actually got to walk through them. It was a little creepy because they were narrow and short, but it was cool to think about how long they have stood the test of time! It is actually the largest pyramid and man-made monument in the world (It's true! Wikipedia and Guiness both say so!), though it is deeper into the ground so it is not as tall as other pyramids.
2. I got to go to a wedding of some Mexican friends at an all-inclusive resort in Punta de Mita, which is right outside of Puerto Vallarta. I had never been to the Pacific coast in Mexico, nor to an all-inclusive so it was a nice 4-day treat!! I went with 7 if my friends and we took almost no pictures, but we did a lot of eating, sleeping, reading, swimming, drinking delicious tropical things, and dancing.
3. There is a sweet lady that cleans my house every other week. She always does a fabulous job and she is a sweet, sweet woman. Today I came home and she had left a note that said (translated) "I'm really embarrassed because the salt fell behind the washing machine when I was cleaning. I'm sorry!" Talk about covering all of your bases!! How does salt come to fall behind a washing machine, you ask? Well, its easy when your washer/dryer stack is in the kitchen right beside your stove and you have all of your favorite spices lined up along the back of the stove.
4. I was fighting traffic on a busy street today and came upon a police car, driving in my lane, the wrong way. He wouldn't move and I couldn't pass him, so we just sat there and threw our hands up staring at each other for a solid minute, until traffic cleared and I could get over.
5. It is 70 degrees out right now and I'm wearing long sleeves today, for the second day this year. And I'm super excited about it and have big plans to throw on all of my sweats tonight and curl up with a book, even if I sweat a little.
6. The Lord is present here, even if it is hard to see sometimes. He's pretty stinkin awesome, and he shows me more and more every day that I can't survive without him, though I have tried plenty!
